ICF
INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITIES (ICF's)
Independence was established in January 1975 as a not-for-profit, 501(C)(3) entity to serve the county’s adult developmentally disabled citizens. The first group home opened in June of 1977 and five additional homes have been added in the ensuing years. Classified as intermediate care facilities (ICF’s) the residences are home to 43 individuals.
Eligibility for services requires meeting level of care to receive Medicaid funded services.
We are refocusing our 6 bed group home located on vine St in Kent, Ohio toward servicing individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities between the ages of 14 and 22. Our targeted goal is to begin admitting individuals in the Spring of 2018.
The homes are licensed and surveyed by both the Ohio Department of Developmental Facilities and the Ohio Department of Health.
