Supported Living/Waiver Services

Independence, Inc. Supported Living/Waiver Department offers supports that are tailored to meet the needs of every individual served. Our goal is to provide services and supports in an enriched environment which fosters independence and personal growth focusing on quality of life, decision making and community inclusion.

We advocate for those we serve, acknowledge the role of family, friends and community supports while coordinating services. Our residential services provide a safe, comfortable and family-like atmosphere.

The many supports offered are:

Homemaker/Personal Care: Assistance with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry and personal hygiene.
Money Management: Maintaining benefits, payeeship, budgeting, bill paying, and banking.
Medical Care: Health monitoring, medication administration, doctor appointments.
Socialization/Community Inclusion: Group activities, agency events, personal plans, shopping, vacations and dates with friends/significant others.

With Independence you will have access to multiple layers of staffing supports:

Direct Support Professionals: Staff members assist with the identified services and supports to promote independence.
Residential Support Supervisor: Oversees staffing and service delivery, addresses problems or concerns and ensures needs are met.
Coordinator of Community Residential Services: The Coordinator is available to address significant changes, problems or concerns and to answer questions about the waiver services.
Administrator On Call (AOC): the AOC is a member of management available 24 hours a day to help with emergencies or emergent matters.
