Eligibility for Support Services

To qualify for services through Independence, an individual must be diagnosed with a developmental disability. This determination is made by a Service and Support Administrator/Specialist at the local County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Additional requirements include eligibility for adult services or community employment and generally, age eighteen or older. Admission is based on available openings and staffing requirements. Some locations are 2 story homes and require ambulation capability.
